Who We Are at the Nutrition Research Center
About Vic Shayne, PhD, Our Philosophy and Why We Got into Healthcare
Nutrition Research Center began as part of a personal journey.
Many years ago, my wife became very ill, in her early 30s. Medical doctors were unable to help her and her health was failing fast. Vitamin pills and multivitamins failed us as well. There were problems with her liver and she suffered from migraines as well as chronic fatigue so bad that she would fall asleep in the middle of the day in her office. I, on the other hand, suffered from chronic sinus headaches since the age of 12. These were so debilitating that I missed school, work and quality of life.
We thought there was nothing else to lose and everything to gain, so we purged our pantry of grocery store foods and restocked with items from the health food store. Then we began taking whole food supplements. Within a matter of two months, life had changed drastically for the better. Today all our old health problems are gone.
Along the way, after studying and practicing clinical nutrition, I learned to tell the difference between new age mumbo jumbo and scientifically-founded nutrition and natural health care practices. So the information and products you find on our website are backed by modern science.
Diet and lifestyle is a holistic concern for us, and we take it all seriously. We have come to realize that the health of the individual is connected to the health of our planet. We not only eat organically grown foods and take whole food supplements rather than man-made vitamins, but we also support the environment through our decision-making. We use clean, chemical-free personal care products, stay away from toxic chemicals that injure ourselves, other people and the environment. Everything is connected.
We created this website to uplift your health, the health of your family, and the health of our planet. When we begin to see health care from a natural perspective, then we understand the humanity in all that we do.
